This territory is made up of two large watersheds: Lake Puyehue in the north; Lake Rupanco in the south.
The area's main tourist attractions are concentrated around them, including Puyehue National Park, hot springs, ski resorts, lush evergreen forests, recently active volcanoes—such as the Puyehue-Cordón del Caulle complex—and remarkable trekking trails, considered among the wildest in Chile.
In a beautiful Andean landscape, the silhouettes of the Puyehue and Puntiagudo volcanoes stand out, covered on their slopes by rainforests typical of the Valdivian Rainforest.
