Winter vacations: From eco-canopy to bike tours, in Ruténica we have the best day trips for family fun.

We're officially home from winter break, a time of year when families take advantage of the opportunity to relax and explore things to do with their children. In Ruténica, we have a variety of options for enjoying, having fun, and learning about the secrets of the Scenic Route of Lakes and Volcanoes, a designation officially established in January 2020 as part of the national tourism strategy.

This designation places this area, along with Easter Island, Torres del Paine, and San Pedro de Atacama, among Chile's world-class tourist destinations. In Ruténica, we have many day trips so families can have fun, learn, and better understand the Puyehue, Ranco, and Llanquihue basins, as well as the Panguipulli Siete Lagos destination.

Here we share our selection of attractions by basin. Remember, if you're looking for a unique experience that's perfect for your entire family, you can contact us on WhatsApp so we can chat with you and help you plan activities that suit you.

Panguipulli Seven Lakes

–Eco Canopy Tralcapulli: This is a unique experience. Upon arrival at the adventure's starting point, you'll be greeted by guides who will fit you with the appropriate equipment and give you detailed instructions for your flight. You begin with the first test line, 250 meters long and 15 meters high, then continue to increase in height, eventually soaring over the Rayintulelfu River and the Valdivia Native Forest. This activity is suitable for all ages ( https://t.ly/iEGt ).

–Kayak Travesia 4 Vientos (full day): This activity takes place on Lake Pirehueico; it's ideal for those looking for a physically demanding activity that offers a challenge, spending more time on the water, getting to know the lake in its entirety, and appreciating the beautiful landscapes that surround it. A full-day sporting activity that involves crossing the 27 km length of Lake Pirehueico, from Puerto de Fuy to Puerto Pirehueico. Medium difficulty ( https://t.ly/2_09 ).

–Family float on the Fuy River (from $100,000 for four people): This activity is designed for little ones who want to experience a moment of adventure. Ranco Lake Basin

–Trekking and a day of southern eleven: We invite you to enjoy a wonderful day exploring the trails in Futangue Park and savoring the local cuisine. You'll also have the privilege of walking through perfectly preserved ecosystems that are home to astonishing biodiversity ( https://t.ly/RiY1 ).

–Discover the Piedra Disco Route: For those who enjoy trekking, the proposal is to venture along this gentle trail that goes into an old local road to Cerro Illi, to discover the mystical “Piedra Disco”, which is what the locals call it and has a carving on its surface that is still very little seen and studied. You will be able to experience a panoramic view of the interior of Ranco, between native forest with rural bridges, springs and natural waterfalls, and a view of Lake Ranco and Futangue Park, which together with the town of Riñinahue give a small hidden glimpse into the lives that preceded us in these places ( https://t.ly/eW_i ).

–El Encanto Farm: The views in Rutenica are endless. We also have this special view for children at El Encanto Farm. There you can see Japanese quail, rabbits, chickens, emus, ponies, sheep, goats, alpacas, cows, and fallow deer, with whom you can interact and share in their natural state. And in the picnic area, there are comfortable rustic outdoor tables, surrounded by native forest with oaks, myrtle, maquis, and hawthorn trees ( https://tinyurl.com/542k7vfa ).

Llanquihue Lake Basin

–Petrohué Bike Tour: This is an ideal option for bike lovers. The outing begins in the Ensenada sector, with a 10-km ride toward the first stop at the Petrohué Falls, where you can explore all its trails and viewpoints. The journey then resumes toward Todos los Santos Lake, traveling another 6 km. Along the way, we'll delight in two viewpoints that show us part of the Petrohué River.
