Ranco Lake: Pilares holds a workshop on designing and planning tourism experiences to differentiate itself from traditional offerings.

The event brought together business leaders from Los Ríos interested in learning about the theory and methodologies applied to this subject.

Thirty-six entrepreneurs from the Los Ríos Region attended the Los Chilcos Estate in Lago Ranco to participate in the workshop "Designing Experiences: A Successful Tourism Product is Planned Step by Step." It was an opportunity for managers and owners of leading companies in the sector to learn about different methodologies applied to this subject.

Along these lines, the activity allowed for the development of tourism products that offer visitors to the area experiences that differentiate themselves from the traditional models of tourist activity offerings that still exist in much of the country.

The workshop presenter, Pablo Ramírez , who holds a master's degree in Public Tourism Management, indicated that the activity "allowed attendees to give their opinions and answer questions aimed at changing the way they offer their products, with a new approach based on the experience they can have at the Scenic Lakes and Volcanoes Route destination, which boasts beautiful tourist attractions and significant cultural activities."

"As demand has been evolving, the traditional players in the tourism sector must also modify, adapt, and generate an offering that is not only based on accommodation, food, or activities, but also experiences, because ultimately, the customer is buying a memorable moment that also allows them to react and learn about the destination to take home a unique memory of their visit," Ramírez explained.

This is the fourth workshop held in the region as part of the "Designing High-Value Tourism Experiences" Technology Dissemination Program , supported by Fomento Los Ríos and aimed at business owners from Panguipulli, Futrono, Lago Ranco, and Río Bueno. It was created by commercial engineers Angélica Sepúlveda and Paulina Valderrama. Through Pilares Consulting, they also launched Ruténica.cl , a website specializing in the digital marketing of tourism offerings along the Lakes and Volcanoes Scenic Route.

Manuel Perrot , Business Development Manager at Ruténica, explained that the workshop held in Lago Ranco marked the beginning of the second phase of the program, which is the design of tourism experiences themselves: “This second phase includes three workshops on tourism experience design, which is the cornerstone of this program; then comes a technology tour in San Martín de Los Andes, Argentina, and a Demo Day activity that involves testing the different prototypes of the designed experiences.”
