In September, venture out to the gastronomic destinations of Puyehue, Ranco, Llanquihue, and Panguipulli.

September is almost here. And if you're looking for sights and activities to enjoy with your family this month, the Lakes and Volcanoes Scenic Route offers surprising culinary destinations to explore and enjoy the best of southern Chile.

The various circuits that comprise this tourist experience route stand out for their combination of Creole, Colono, and Mapuche foods and beverages. Furthermore, the more than 2,000 kilometers of roads that connect its 21 communities—between the regions of La Araucanía, Los Lagos, and Los Ríos—allow travelers to encounter ancestral villages and traditional festivals that give it a unique cultural and culinary identity.

For example, on the Seven Lakes Circuit, Panguipulli has excellent restaurants serving international, Chilean, fusion, and vegetarian dishes. Wheat and hazelnut coffees are also made in the area, along with catutos and a delicious horse soup.

Say no more. Here are our culinary facts by basin (as you read, imagine you're tasting them in front of volcanoes, or surrounded by forests and lakes. You'll find all that and more in Ruthenia).

Panguipulli

–Restaurant Escuela: Its chef has created a menu that owes its attention to the land and its seasons, avoiding foreign and timeless products. He seeks to highlight what is our own, what belongs to us, what fills us with pride. Simply put, they are a showcase “to showcase the flavorful cuisine of Panguipulli” ( https://bit.ly/3j6HubL ).
