Entrepreneurs from Los Ríos participate in a technology tour on tourism experience design in San Martín de Los Andes.

The activity is part of the Technology Outreach Program organized by Consultora Pilares. "The trip allowed me to analyze my own business and avoid making mistakes," said Juan Antonio Oporto, of Turismo Jaos de Futrono.

A large group of entrepreneurs linked to the tourism sector in the Los Ríos Region participated in a three-day tour of the Argentine city of San Martín de Los Andes, where they were able to learn and exchange experiences on the design of high-value tourism experiences with leading local operators.

The activity, part of a Technology Dissemination Program (PDT) organized by Pilares Consulting, allowed travelers to experience different tourism experiences in this area and apply the methodologies learned during the training sessions.

During their stay in San Martín, the Chilean business leaders sailed on Lake Lacar and visited the Quila Quina village and waterfall. They also enjoyed breakfast with union representatives and participated in birdwatching and snowshoeing excursions, among other activities.

“The experience has had interesting nuances. It allowed us to share experiences with entrepreneurs from different fields, and in terms of learning, each experience, in my case, leads me to analyze my own business, pay attention to details, and try not to make the same mistakes I've noticed,” said Juan Antonio Oporto of Turismo Jaos de Futrono.

Angélica Sepúlveda , executive director of Pilares , explained that “understanding the winter tourism offerings in San Martín de Los Andes allows local entrepreneurs to nurture their own learning process by acquiring elements of judgment to evaluate different experiences and thus apply the tools in their own services to captivate their old and new clients.”

Manuel Perrot , the project's general coordinator, explained that the tour is part of the second phase of the PDT, which is the design of tourism experiences. "The tour allows program participants to experience tourism products with a trained, critical eye, thereby taking their learning and their own tourism experience designs to the next level."

The "Designing High-Value Tourism Experiences" Technology Dissemination Program is supported by Fomento Los Ríos and is aimed at business owners from Panguipulli, Futrono, Lago Ranco, and Río Bueno. It was created by commercial engineers Angélica Sepúlveda and Paulina Valderrama. Through Pilares , the two also launched Ruténica.cl , a website specializing in the digital marketing of the Lakes and Volcanoes Scenic Route's tourism offerings.
